The best picture goes to Slumdog Millionaire! The true essence of the film is "about optimism and the power of hope and our lives," according to the Indian composer and Oscar award winning (Best Score and Best Song) AR Rahman.
Some quotable quotes on Slumdog's 8 wins:
"My kids are too old to remember this now but, when they were much younger, I swore to them if this miracle ever happened, I would receive it in the spirit of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, and that's what that was."
-Slumdog Millionaire's Danny Boyle on bouncing up and down as he accepted his best director award.
"There are certain places you never imagine standing - the moon, the South Pole, the Miss World podium and here."
Slumdog Millionaire writer Simon Beaufoy on winning best adapted screenplay.
"We don't see this world (Hollywood, Oscars) most of the time - we get a glimpse of it in England. But after, I'll be going home, having a cup of tea and we're looking forward to that just as much as we're looking forward to tonight."
-Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle on enjoying the best of both worlds.

The Vespa Adidas Contest

As you all know, L and best buddy Mike are Vespa afficionados. They are both registered in the upcoming Deck Your (Vespa) Ride to The (Adidas) Party contest.
The two are abuzz about the designs they have in mind. They both talk about simplicity, as any Vespa purist would be. This contest is in celebration of 60 Years of Soles and Stripes. Special thanks to Dandee who will be executing L's designs. While Vespa boys in the scooter forums talk about oggling the girls and meeting Borgy and Tim Yap at The Embassy on Feb 27, I dream about Italy.
L talks about the Adidas-Vespa collection and lusts for the tan and white shoes. He has not seen the brown shoes I found from Streething.com, straight out of the Italy showroom.

Mike already has the Vespa Gran Lusso in white. It is mid-cut, with a sleeker silhouette and some crispy leather uppers. Priced around P5295 (with 20% discount at The Adidas Originals shop in Trinoma).

While there I also saw vintage Adidas shoes.

Who are the Vespa boys anyway?

They are a group of people who love the masterful design of the motorcycle (from an aeronautical engineer and airplane makers) and the freedom the vehicle brings!

Pasparrazi Shot
Remember Bryanboy when he was just starting to become famous? He went to Beijing and had his photo taken with this camel. I forgot to post this picture of mine, but here it is.
Meanwhile I am still busy taking off the lbs gained over the last quarter. L has already lost 2.2 kgs with his twice a week gym, once a week badminton regimen. So far I have only lost 3.9lbs from 6 hours a week of badminton. Tsk tsk. It is soooooo hard!
